| In this Southwestern Landscape Painting,"Fire in the Sky," an original oil on panel, I wanted to paint a firey sky I once saw at sunset over the east rim of the chicos mountians, viewed from Rice tank, Big Bend Natnl. Park, TX. Few places have the natural arrangments and forces to have such sunsets as this area seems to have been given. Storms come from no where, the last glow of the sun melts the sky and rain evaporates before it reaches the ground, where dwarfted mesquite trees become shrubs and devils walking cane starts to grow as the yucca blossumbs dance into a haze in the last light of day. | |
