At first look you might think that you're looking at a photograph, but not so. The black and white drawings Mark renders have, quite possibly the most delicate athmospheres in drawing that I have ever experienced. Indeed that which rises from the mists of imagination does come to life in the pencil drawings by this artist. For many years I have made the remark that "a pencil is not just a pencil," for me the fine art drawings by Mark Define excellence in drawing as a complete medium in art.

Welcome to the Community Arts Partnership (CAP), the arts council for Tompkins County.
CAP was founded in 1990 in response to a community-wide desire to strengthen and develop the County's arts and cultural community. Many sectors came together to engage in a community cultural assessment that would describe how a new arts council would assist and support the arts. After an exhaustive, inclusive 18-month study, CAP was launched as a not-for-profit agency that would serve the public by providing services to the arts in the County.
CAP receives annual programming and operational support from the New York State Council on the Arts and from the Tompkins County Tourism Program.
