This Southwestern Texas Landscape Painting, "Elephant Tusk and Backbone Ridge," an original oil on panel, was painted on site, viewed from Rice Tank campground. An incredibly quiet and still place. One can sense that anything man made eventually surrenders to the desert in this place. In this version of this most beautiful place I wanted to show the simplicity of of the view in an almost impressionistic manner of the last light of the day as things seem to begin to melt in the eye.
