- In this Southwestern Landscape Painting,
"Ranchos First Snow," an original oil on panel, I wanted
to offer my rendition of the famous Ranchos Church. All painters
who have lived in Taos, New Mexico are required to paint the
Ranchos Church; it's the unwritten law, in a town with a lawless
and violent past, filled with much lore and tale. Nonetheless,
in this, my original oil on panel, I wanted to show the abstract
quality of this earthen-made place of worship crowned with a
rim of fresh snow, bathed in rich New Mexico sunlight.
